Successful reassessment for IIP

WBS is celebrating its successful re-assessment of the Investor in People Standard.

WBS has been an IIP organisation since 1999 and has found the process valuable and engaging across the years. The recent changes to the standard means it is even more relevant to small businesses.

2011 European Project gets off to a great start

WBS manages the GMB Scotland’s European Commission project called ‘Information & Consultation For High Performance: Employee appraisal – Conflict to Cooperation’.

The EU granted this project as they thought it was an innovative and interesting approach to improving information and consultation in the workplace – from the point of view of the Employee Appraisal. GMB Scotland has partners in Poland and Hungary and in March 2011, 30 people from 13 different manufacturing companies across the 3 countries met to discuss this important process within organisations.

Companies like Edrington whisky from Scotland and Danone, Philip Morris, Heineken and Frieslandcampina and Kruszwica were represented at the seminar. They had agreed to a partnership approach, that is managers and trade unions attended as a team. This made the seminar rich in dialogue and exchange, dynamic in its honesty and ultimately valuable to all those who companies taking part.
